Start Learning with LALVC Today

We are an Adult Learning Centre that teaches Basic Literacy, Numeracy, General Studies and Vocational Skills. We prepare Adult learners for government accredited examinations including O-levels, A-levels and equivalents. We  provide a holistic learning environment with year-round quality educational programming including excursions, seminars and other extracurricular activities.

OUR MISSION

Through the acquisition of basic reading and writing skills plus vocational training, we provide less privileged men and women with a second chance to life.

HOW WE STARTED

The vision to start the Lekki Adult literacy and Vocational Centre (LALVC) in 2020 emanated (in the heat of COVID Pandemic) from the increasing gulf in economic, social and academic class as more unemployed and uneducated/semi-educated men and women continue to migrate to the “affluent” and fast developing Lekki suburb of Lagos State.

The EndSARS riots of October 2020 also brought home the threat of mass revolt from the uneducated/underpaid masses against the top 1% who has hitherto believed they were invincible behind their high walled homes within gated communities and police escort while in transit.

In collaboration with the Lagos State Agency for Mass Education, under the immensely supportive leadership of Mrs Kemi Kalesanwo, we set out with 25 students from a myriad of backgrounds and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a Not for Profit Organisation with 3 founding trustees:  Pastor Tunde Netufo, the Pastor-in Charge of RCCG province 20 and CEO of Frontline Trust Finance Ltd, Joe Mbulu, ED and CFO of Union Bank and Mrs Chika Idalah-Allison, CEO of Dechimat Solutions Consulting Ltd.

OUR SHORT TERM GOALS
1. 500 learners by 2023
2. 10 Distinct classes to ensure each learner receives basic education that is, to a large extent, tailored to his/her background.
3. Establishment of a Vocational Centre to cater for over 50% of learners whose post WAEC plan is to be established in a trade or vocation.
4. Establish a scholarship scheme to cater for learners who desire to further their education and are unable to get sponsors.
